Description
Calorie Calculator estimates the calories you need each day and gives simple guidelines for weight loss or gain. It is based on the Mifflin–St Jeor equation. Results are estimates based on averages — combine them with a balanced diet and sensible activity.
What Free results include
- BMI with a category label (underweight, normal, overweight, or obese)
- Basal metabolic rate (BMR) — calories at rest
- TDEE — calories to maintain weight for the selected activity level
- Existing lose/gain calorie targets (for example 0.5 kg / 1 lb per week)
How to Use
- Add the Calorie Calculator block in the block editor, use the shortcode
[calorie_calculator], or place the classic widget in a sidebar. - Select a unit. By default it shows both US and Metric units; you can show only one.
- Choose a style: Modern (default), Card style (self-contained — no theme Bootstrap needed), or Classic.

FAQ
-
What is Calorie Calculator?
-
It lets you embed a calorie calculator (block, shortcode, Elementor, or widget) so visitors can estimate daily calorie needs, see BMI / BMR / TDEE, and get simple lose/gain targets.
-
On which basis are the values calculated?
-
Free uses the Mifflin–St Jeor equation for basal metabolic rate (BMR), then applies an activity factor for TDEE (maintain calories). BMI is calculated from height and weight. Results are estimates.
-
Does the Free version include BMI?
-
Yes. From 3.5.0, Free results show BMI (with category), basal BMR, and TDEE alongside the existing calorie goal lines.
